Commissioned by Damen Shipyards Hardinxveld, DROMEC Winches has carried out a full overhaul of the brake band of the towing winch installed on board the workboat Siskin Herman SR. This workboat is deployed for a wide range of maritime support operations, where the reliability of the towing winch is essential for safe and controlled operations.

Thorough overhaul of a critical component

The brake band is a key safety component of the winch installation and is exposed to high static and dynamic loads during towing and operational activities. DROMEC performed a complete inspection of the brake system, renewed the brake lining, replaced worn parts, and checked hinge points, bearings and alignment.

Afterwards, the brake was carefully adjusted to ensure even pressure distribution and optimal braking force, guaranteeing the holding capacity and operational safety of this robust winch system.
