DROMEC once again supplies winch systems to GS Projects

In Waterhuizen, along the Winschoterdiep, GS Projects builds innovative vessels. For their latest Eco-Freighter 3700, the Baltic Star, commissioned by the Longship Group, DROMEC provided the winch systems.

Anchor winch and capstan

For the Baltic Star, DROMEC supplied a hydraulic anchor winch with a double wildcat for 32 mm anchor chain, including the corresponding chain stoppers. In addition, the vessel is equipped with an electrically driven capstan with a pulling force of 4,100 kg.

The anchor winch was extensively tested at our production facility in Ten Boer and officially approved in the presence of Lloyd’s. Installation then took place during the vessel’s completion in Waterhuizen.
